I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. Psalm 40:1
For 52 days, Renzo’s food goes through a tube inserted in his nose (NGT) which will only be removed if he pass his swallowing tests which he failed for several times already because his swallowing reflex is so weak and might have been damage when he went into comatose as we were told by some of his doctors. Instead of going through the esophagus, when fed through his mouth, the food goes to the trachea (near the lungs) which poses risk of being aspirated or acquiring pneumonia because his glottis (the flap which closes by reflex above trachea to protect the lungs whenever we swallow) isn’t functioning well. Thus, a peg (tube inserted directly to the abdomen) was taken into consideration. But praise God! For five days now, he eats through his mouth during his occupational therapy sessions without a trace of food in the trache. God willing, the NGT will be removed soon. Our God has answered our prayers again.
Thank you for keeping him in your prayers!
Keep holding the rope with us. Thank you and God bless!

Benefit Night
Good day!
Counting our blessings amidst the storm.
Last September 30, 2011, when Renzo’s hospital bill was
piling by the day and his account was already “Red Tag” (the hospital cut-off
his medicines, laboratory tests and procedures; we have to pay in cash daily),
more than 50 pastors’ kids staged a benefit night tagged “Rise for Renz”
(Pastor Edwin Tan’s idea, spearheaded by Pastor’s Kid Jennifer Escrupolo – Escultura)
at Bible Baptist Church Pasay City to raise funds for him. My family was overwhelmed
knowing that none of them know my son personally but they went out of their way
to be a channel of blessing for their fellow Pastor’s Kid.
God bless these PK’s. To God be the Glory!

pray for his recovery and needs.

When Holy Spirit Moves...
Last week, a lady visited my son. She introduced herself to us and with tears shared how one Sunday she attended a church service where I was invited to preach (nobody invited her). To God be the Glory! Convicted by God's message, she asked God's forgiveness for questioning Him.
Before she left the hospital, she gave an envelope for Renzo. When we opened it, 20,000 pesos love gift. Guess what caused her to question God? Money matters.
On top of this, she requested a Bible study this week.
To God be the Glory!

RENZO in my EYES
some people who only by chance had read our blog asks "who is renzo?"... ahh..another personal blog for people who wants to flaunt... or maybe, a young soldier? a christian soldier? is there such a thing?...or perhaps a blog wanting some sympathy?a writer trying to unburden his soul and make others carry his burden?the questions are endless...so, let's start getting to know our RENZO...be our guest and in the end, be our friend :)
in the BEGINNING...
DAN RENZO YNGUINE VILLANO GARCINEZ ...what a long name! but before our little one got his name, with pride i want to tell you peepz that i was the "choosen one"... the first human (next to the medical staff, ofcourse!)to ever hold the so pink and long baby with such a BIG mouth!ha hah!..so cute and crying out loud.. i got so excited and terrified because he's the first ever new born i'm going to carry in my arms!nayks..baka mahulog (afraid!afraid!)...but before we get lost let's go back :)
DAN from our father's name (danilo)
RENZO from i dont know..hehe..let's ask his mother (shella marie)
YNGUINE ahhh...i love this part for i was given the honor to give our baby a unique name. i was tasked actually to put together letters to produce a unique spelled name b'coz that was the trend then :)
VILLANO of course that's our family name
GARCINEZ and that's his father's family name....
i love calling our baby "big mouth" not only bcoz he has such a big mouth, his voice and cries would fill the hospital hall as well... by the way, he came to this world on September 03, 1994 at Baptist Hospital in General Santos City. Ahem, i just realized now, Renzo was born in Baptist Hospital but they weren't Baptist yet then...but the Lord knows he will be one, someday :)
so, was Renzo a sickly baby? No, sir! Renzo was a healthy, healthy baby!his parents didn't went through the middle of the night trips to the hospital...he's always a well baby. infact he was hospitalized only once, when he was poisoned by the grapes he ate...that was just that.there was never a time that Renzo was ever hospitalized again..
RENZO baby, the tomato boy...our baby was never a junk food addict...while his playmates munches on "sitsirya" our little one was munching tomatoes, garlic at times and onions sometimes...whoah!!! pipino was also a favorite and carrots..hehe...don't we wish all kiddos will be healthy eaters and not picky ones?!?
RENZO the gifted child... i remember wishing then that if i would have a child somedayi want a baby like renzo.he's so little but knows so much! he's a sucker for numbers and puzzles and logics...whatever he hears or see or learn from others he would digest, disect and think about it...most aften, experiment about it and apply it!!! one time i told him, let's get all your lice so the mother wouldn't bring (flew) you off in a far away land...the next time i know, he pulled all his hair in that area so the lice wouldn't have a palce to breed on...hahayzzz!!!my shock!!!
RENZO the responsible kuya...renzo was just a year or so older than his baby sis eloisa...but when they were both still toddlers he would take care of bebeh(his name for baby sis)..he would teach her to be "madiskarte", how to urinate standing..hahaha! he would bring her to their neighbor's house if nightfall comes and the parents are still not around...he would teach her to climb the kitchen counter and eat from the "kaldero" if they get so hungry and their father is not yet done with his preaching...he would teach his siblings later on to hide their viand under their rice when there are so many people around and there will be times nothing will be left for them to eat...he would scold eloisa if she goes anywhere with out telling where she's going (lakwatsa)...and if she puts on so many accessories or wear clothes that to him is not appropriate...i remember one night he went to my house and told me his siblngs are hungry.they have cooked rice but no viand.ok i said what viand do you want?his eyes sparked and with a big smile said SARDINAS po tita! my heart!!! how many i asked...he said just one tita, ok na po.ahh, one big?i asked again. renzo replied, no tita, only one small po, baka wala na po kayong pera..(you might not have enough money left)...my heart was crying...ok let's go together i told him...so off he went to buy one small can of sardines and i went to their Patronage...when he came back he told his siblings "it's party time, we have sardines!yeheeeyyyy!!!!let's eat!!! and he called not only his siblings but the church workers as well....renzo shared the one small can of sardines to his 3 siblings and 5 church workers..he was only 9 or 10 years old then...but he has the heart of all adult members combined...of course i made them buy some more sardines...would you not???

Update
“Oh, how infinitely good our Father above! He may choose to
confound even the most esteemed of mortal men.” That’s a text message from Ptr.
Potts, a fellow servant of God who regularly visit Renzo in the hospital to
encourage him. A big AMEN to this message.
Dan Renzo is now on a 24-hour vent zip up breathing test
which started at 3am. By God’s grace, he passed the test with flying colors for
13 hours now (which last week seemed to be impossible according to his
pulmonary doctor). To God be the Glory!
Let’s continue to pray and support this young soldier of
Christ, Dan Renzo’s battle agaisnt brain tumor. He’s undergoing radiotheraphy
(brain and spine), physical (balance and coordination) and occupational
(swallowing and speech) threaphy everyday.
The road to recovery will take time. Let Dan Renzo know that
we are with him in this battle through our prayers and financial supports.
His gross hospital bill as of today is 1.2 million pesos and
net balance of 713 thousand pesos. Aside from this, the family have to pay 2
PDNS, buy his medicines and pay for the laboratory tests and procedures.
Let us be a channel of blessing to Dan Renzo.

Update
"O
give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. To
him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth for ever."
Psalms 136:1 and 4
Our good
and merciful God showered Dan Renzo today with His great wonders. He started
with 1 minute breathing without the help of the vent 5 days ago (which his
pulmonary doctor doubted at first if he can pass). Today, Renzo is breathing on
his own from 7:30am until 1:00pm with only few episodes of apnea. Vital signs are
stable all throughout. Praise the Lord!
Keep
holding the rope with us. Thank you and God bless!

Update
“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among
the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalms 46:10.
Dan Renzo passed the 1 hour vent weaning (zip up) yesterday
by God’s grace, with only 5 episodes pf apnea which lasted only for a few
seconds. Respiratory rate getting higher, vent back up rate lowered to 4 (which
means, the machine’s help in his breathing is already minimal) since yesterday.
To God be the glory for all the wonderful things that He has done!

What really happened!
July 4, 2011 Dan Renzo Ynguine Villano Garcinez,
16 years old then, and serving the Lord as a Bible student, asst. preacher,
choir director violin, guitar and piano teacher, was diagnosed at Cho Rai
Hospital, Vietnam with malignant brain tumor. The doctors there said that his
prognosis was very poor. He had to undergo surgery asap. But we were told that
even if he undergoes surgery, he will only live for 1 year. Our hearts were
broken but trusted God for everything. The local Christian brethren there ( some
of whom are his fruits ) and fellow workers in God's vineyard all over the
world begged God for his life.
July 8, 2011 He was flown back to the Philippines for a 2nd opinion, more tests and treatment. The good news was, we were told by his doctor that only a biopsy can tell if the tumor is malignant or benign. Prayer partners rejoiced and prayed unceasingly for him.He was immediately admitted at Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center and underwent four major brain surgeries ( 2 craniectomy and 2 vp shunting )in a span of 2 months ( 1st on July 21, 2011 & the 2nd one on Aug. 25, 2011 ). In spite of the risks, 4 episodes of pneumonia and 1 episode of a collapsed lung before his 2nd surgery, God saw Renzo through. His chief neuro surgeon was a real blessing and favor from the Lord too.A fellow pastor's son in the person of Dr. Roy Allan Torquator, present head of St. Luke's Brain Tumor Comprehensive Center, both in E. Rodriguez and Global . Dr. Torquator did all these for free.
